Celebrity Name : Fanny Brice
Celebrity Real Name : Fanny Borach
Date of Birth : October 29, 1891
Birth Location : United States
Biography of Fanny Borach :
Fanny Brice (October 29, 1891 – May 29, 1951) was a popular and influential United States comedian, singer, and entertainer, remembered best for her many stage, radio and film appearances, her phonograph records, and as the creator and star of Baby Snooks. After her death she was depicted on stage and film by Barbra Streisand as Funny Girl.
Early life and career :
Fanny Brice (occasionally spelled Fannie) was the stage name of Fania Borach, born in New York City, the third child of relatively well-off saloon owners of Hungarian Jewish descent. In 1908, she dropped out of school to work in a burlesque review. She is best known for both her association with Florenz Ziegfeld, headlining his Ziegfeld Follies from 1910 into the 1930s, and for her later radio career which lasted a decade and a half.
In the 1921 Follies, she was featured singing “My Man” which became a big hit and is considered Fanny Brice’s signature song. She made a popular recording of it for RCA Victor Records. The second song most associated with her is the tune “Second Hand Rose”. She recorded nearly two dozen record sides for Victor, and also cut several for Columbia. She is a posthumous recipient of a Grammy Hall of Fame Award for her 1921 recording of “My Man.”
Trying to leap from stage to screen, Fanny made several films. She appeared in My Man (1928), Be Yourself! (1930), Everybody Sing (1938) (with Judy Garland), The Great Ziegfeld (she, Ray Bolger and Harriet Hoctor were the only original Ziegfeld performers to portray themselves in the 1936 film), and 1946’s Ziegfeld Follies. For her contribution to the motion picture industry, she has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at MP 6415 Hollywood Blvd.
Death :
Six months after her Big Show appearance, Fanny Brice died in Hollywood, California at the age of 59 of a cerebral hemorrhage.
She is interred in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles. The May 29, 1951 episode of The Baby Snooks Show was broadcast as a memorial to the star who created the brattish toddler, crowned by Hanley Stafford’s brief on-air eulogy: “We have lost a very real, a very warm, a very wonderful woman.”
Film tributes :
A loosely-based biopic of Brice was released in 1939 entitled Rose of Washington Square, starring Alice Faye and Tyrone Power. The title “Rose of Washington Square,” came from the title of a song which Brice popularized by performing it in the Follies. Brice soon found out via gossip columnist Louella Parsons that the film was based on her life and ordered 20th Century Fox head Darryl F. Zanuck to cut several production numbers.
Barbra Streisand later starred as Brice in the 1964 Broadway musical Funny Girl, which made Streisand an overnight sensation. In 1968, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for reprising her role in the film version of “Funny Girl.” In 1975, a sequel film, Funny Lady, was produced. Streisand also eventually recorded both “My Man” and “Second Hand Rose”.[wikipedia]

Celebrity Name : Erykah Badu
Celebrity Real Name : Erica Wright
Date of Birth : February 26, 1971
Birth Location : Dallas, Texas, United States
Biography of Erica Wright :
Erykah Badu (born Erica Abi Wright on February 26, 1971 in Dallas, Texas) is one of the US-American neo-soul, R&B/hip hop artist whose work crosses over into jazz. She is best known for her singles “You Got Me,” her collaboration with The Roots, as well as her own songs “Tyrone”, “Next Lifetime”, “On & On”, “Bag Lady” and “Clevah.” Influenced early on by singers such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Chaka Khan, (her all-time favorite artist), Erykah was taking to the local radio microphones, freestyling on the air by the age of 14.
While a dance student at Booker T. Washington High, Dallas’s art-magnet school, “MC Apples” (her high school nickname) used her freestyle rap skills as a member of a female rap duo. Not only was she known as MC Apples, but she would also no longer be known as Erica — as she felt it was a slave name — and opted to change her name by adding “Kah” to the end (rather than “Ca”), since “Kah,” connotes the inner self.
She went from Wright to Badu, as it was similar to a sound she made while scatting (incidentally, she later learned that Badu is Arabic for “to manifest truth and light”).
Once a high school graduate, Erykah went on to study theater at the historically Black college Grambling State University. Since she wanted to concentrate on music full-time, she decided to leave the university in 1993 before graduating and took on several minimum wage jobs to support herself. She even taught drama and dance to children at the South Dallas Cultural Center.
Her lyrics are highly personal urban philosophies which throw emotional challenges in the face of the listener. She weaves unusual musical influences together creating a rich texture of sound. In many aspects she remains the quintessential Hip-Hop B-Girl.
Some music journalists have labeled her Nu soul or neo soul, often comparing her to Billie Holiday in lyrical delivery and grouping her with Maxwell and D’Angelo in musical genre. She has performed with roots rock reggae musician and singer Burning Spear.
Badu has a son named Seven (b. 1997) with ex-boyfriend Andre 3000 of Outkast fame. On July 5, 2004, Badu gave birth to a daughter, Puma, in her Dallas home; the father is reportedly rapper The D.O.C..

Celebrity Name: Eminem
Celebrity Real Name: Marshall Bruce Mathers III
Date of Birth:October 17, 1972
Birth Location:Detroit, Michigan, USA
Biography:
Eminem (born Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 17, 1972) is a Grammy and Academy Award-winning American rapper and occasional actor. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, and was raised in Detroit.
Early life
By most accounts, the Mathers family was extremely poor, which was the primary reason for their constant moves, during which Marshall and his mother would often find themselves living in public housing, mobile homes, and under the care of relatives. During this time, Debbie Mathers was legally taking the prescription drugs Vicodin and Valium; Marshall Mathers later claimed in numerous interviews and songs that his mother was abusing the drugs,[1] to which she retaliated with a lawsuit pressing defamation charges (see below). In the song “Cleaning Out My Closet” (The Eminem Show, 2002), Mathers also accuses his mother of having Munchausen syndrome by proxy, adding that “my whole life I was made to believe I was sick when I wasn’t.” This was not the first time someone had suggested she had the disorder; a social worker had made similar comments following a 1996 investigation of her mistreatment of her second child, Nathan Samra-Mathers.
Early career
Interested in rap from a young age, Mathers began performing as early as 13, later gaining some popularity with a group, Soul Intent. In 1996, he released an independent underground album, named Infinite (of which he sold about 500 copies out of the back of his car.) The album received no airplay and a mixed critical response, with people claiming Eminem’s rapping style sounded too similar to Nas and AZ. It was after this, that stress, drama and negativity spread in his life. In 1997 he followed Infinite with The Slim Shady EP demo, which saw his lyrics take a decidedly darker turn, in songs like “No One’s Iller” and “Murder Murder”, the latter in which he talks about having to commit crimes to feed his daughter. He became famous in the hip-hop underground because of his distinctive, cartoonish style and the fact that he was white in a predominantly black genre. Fellow rapper Snoop Dogg refers to him as rap’s “great white American hope” in the song “Bitch Please II” off of Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP.

At Aftermath/Interscope, Mathers released The Slim Shady LP, which went on to be one of the most popular albums of 1999, going triple platinum by the end of the year. With the album’s enormous popularity came controversy surrounding many of the album’s lyrics. In “‘97 Bonnie and Clyde”, he describes a trip with his infant daughter, disposing of the body of his wife. Another song, “Guilty Conscience,” ends with him encouraging a man to murder his wife and her lover. “Guilty Conscience” also marked the beginning of the powerful friendship and musical bond that Dr. Dre and Eminem would share. The two label-mates would later collab on a line of hit songs, including “Forgot About Dre” and “What’s The Differrence” from Dr. Dre’s highly acclaimed album 2001.
Eminem as a producer
Mathers is also active as a producer of rap records. Besides being the executive producer of D12’s two albums, Devil’s Night and D12 World, he has also produced numerous tracks on Obie Trice’s Cheers and Second Round’s On Me as well as 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and The Massacre. In addition, Mathers has produced and appeared on several songs by other famous rappers, such as Jadakiss’ “Welcome To D-Block,” Jay-Z’s “Renegade” and “Moment of Clarity” Lloyd Banks’ “Warrior Part 2,” and “Hands Up,” Tony Yayo’s “Drama Setter,” Trick Trick’s “Welcome 2 Detroit,” and Xzibit’s “My Name” and “Don’t Approach Me.” Most of The Eminem Show was produced by Mathers himself, with co-production from longtime collaborator Jeff Bass. He also split the production with Dr. Dre on Encore. In 2004, Mathers executive-produced 2Pac’s posthumous album Loyal to the Game with 2Pac’s mother Afeni Shakur. On certain tracks, 2Pac’s voice was slowed down or sped up, and digitally altered to say things like “2005″ and “G-Unit,” angering many fans. He also produced Akon’s “Smack That”
Retirement?
In 2005, some industry insiders speculated that Mathers is considering ending his rapping career after six years and numerous multi-platinum albums. Speculation began in early 2005 about a double-disc album to be released late that year, rumored to be titled The Funeral. The album manifested itself under the name Curtain Call: The Hits, and was released on December 6, 2005 under Aftermath Entertainment.
In July 2005, the Detroit Free Press broke news of a potential final bow for Mathers as a solo performer, quoting members of his inside circle who said that he will begin to fully embrace the role of producer and label executive. The Free Press, Mathers’ hometown paper, wrote that the aptly titled Encore album would now stand as his final solo album.[wikipedia]

Celebrity Name:
Celebrity Real Name: Declan McManus
Date of Birth:25 August 1954
Birth Location:London
Biography:
Declan Patrick MacManus (born 25 August 1954, in London), better known by his stage name, Elvis Costello, is a British musician, singer, and songwriter of Irish ancestry.
(His full given name is often listed as Declan Patrick Aloysius MacManus; however, Aloysius was not one of his names at birth, being added years later, around the time of the release of “King Of America”, when he toyed with the idea of changing his name back to Declan MacManus from his “stage” name, Elvis Costello.)
Costello was an early participant in London’s pub rock scene in the mid-1970s, and later became associated with the punk rock and new wave musical genres, before establishing himself as a unique and original voice in the 1980s. His output has been wildly diverse: One critic has written that “Costello, the pop encyclopedia, can reinvent the past in his own image”.
Early life
MacManus was born in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington in London, and lived in the area until he was sixteen. With a musically inclined father (his father, Ross MacManus, sang with Joe Loss), MacManus moved with his mother to Liverpool in 1971. It was there that he formed his first band, a folk duo called Rusty. After completing secondary school in Liverpool, he moved back to London where he next formed a band called Flip City [2], which had a style very much in the pub rock vein. They were active from 1974 through early 1976. Around this time, MacManus adopted the stage name D.P. Costello.
Career
The first Costello single for Stiff was “Less Than Zero” b/w “Radio Sweetheart (single mix),” released on March 25, 1977. Two months later, Costello’s first album, My Aim Is True (1977), was a moderate commercial success (No. 14 in the UK and Top 40 in the US) with Costello appearing on the cover in his trademark oversize glasses, bearing a striking resemblance to a menacing Buddy Holly. Costello’s backing on this first album was provided by American West Coast band Clover, a roots/country outfit living in England, who would later become Huey Lewis and The News. Costello was originally marketed as a punk artist. At the time, there was no term to distinguish punk bands like The Clash and the Sex Pistols from other so-called punk bands like Elvis Costello and Blondie. Later on, as the term new wave was applied to the first post-punk bands, Costello was new wave - for a couple of albums, anyway. The same year, Costello recruited via auditions his own permanent band, The Attractions, consisting of Steve Nieve (born Steve Nason; piano), Bruce Thomas (bass guitar), and Pete Thomas (unrelated to Bruce Thomas; drums). He released his first major hit single, “Watching The Detectives,” which was recorded with Nieve and the pair of Steve Goulding (drums) and Andrew Bodnar (bass), both members of Graham Parker & The Rumour.
In July 2005, a CD recording of a collaboration with Marian McPartland on her show Piano Jazz was released. It featured Costello singing six jazz standards and two of his own songs, accompanied by Marian McPartland on piano. In November 2005 Costello started recording a new album with Allen Toussaint and producer Joe Henry. The River in Reverse was released in the UK on the Verve label on 29 May 2006. Also released in 2006 was a live recording of a concert with the Metropole Orkest at the North Sea Jazz Festival, entitled My Flame Burns Blue.
Personal life
Costello has been married three times:
* In 1974, MacManus married Mary Burgoyne. The couple had a son, Matthew, and split up in 1984.
* In 1986, Costello married Cait O’Riordan, then bassist for the band The Pogues. The couple split at the end of 2002.
* Costello became engaged to singer Diana Krall in May 2003. In December, Costello and Krall married at the London estate of Sir Elton John. They are expecting twins, due in December 2006.
Rhino reissues
Starting in 2001, Rhino Records began an eighteen double-disc reissue program for Costello’s back catalogue prior to his Polygram/Universal contract. Except for the compilation, each of the reissues presented the remastered original album on one disc, and a separate bonus disc of B-sides, outtakes, live tracks, alternate versions and/or demos of songs.[wikipedia]

Birth Location :Manhattan, Kansas, USA
Biography:
Cassandra Peterson (born September 17, 1949) is an American actress best known for her on-screen horror host persona “Elvira, Mistress of the Dark”. She gained fame on Los Angeles television station KHJ wearing a black, gothic, cleavage-enhancing gown as host of Movie Macabre, a weekly horror movie presentation. Her wicked vampish appearance was offset by her comical character, quick witted personality and Valley girl-type speech. In April 2006, Peterson announced her intent to retire the role.
Early life
Although born in Manhattan, Kansas, Peterson grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and graduated from General William J. Palmer High School in 1967. Just days after that, she became a showgirl at The Dunes in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she lost her virginity to Tom Jones, an incident she would relate in later years with much embarrassment. According to Peterson she required many stitches to repair the damages the next day. In Italy, she was the lead singer in a rock band and a chance encounter with Federico Fellini led to a small part in Roma (1972). Back in the U.S., she joined the Los Angeles-based improvisational troupe The Groundlings where she would eventually create the character which would soon become known as Elvira.
Recent years
* Peterson made brief appearances (both as herself and as Elvira) on I Love the 80s 3-D on VH1. She is a supporter of animal rights and an active member of PETA. [1]

* On April 19, 2006, Peterson announced her intention to retire as Elvira, and that she would be seeking a successor for the role, via a reality TV program.[2]
* Several episodes of the Elvira’s Movie Macabre series were released on DVD in September 2006.
* She has never had any cosmetic surgery or implants.[wikipedia]

Celebrity Name : Elton John
Celebrity Real Name : Reginald Kenneth Dwight
Date of Birth : 25 March 1947
Birth Location : Pinner, London, England
Biography:
Sir Elton Hercules[1] John, CBE[2] (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on 25 March 1947) is an English pop/rock singer, composer and pianist. In a career spanning five decades, Elton John has sold over 250 million records[3] and has over 50 Top 40 hits, making him one of the most successful musicians of all time.
In the early 1990s, John publicly revealed the personal costs of his rock-star extravagance: his ongoing struggle with drug abuse, depression and bulimia. He continues to be a major public figure, and has been heavily involved in the fight against AIDS since the late 1980s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and was knighted in 1998, and has remained an enduringly successful artist.
Early years (1947–1962)
Reginald Kenneth Dwight was born in Pinner, Middlesex, a London suburb. His father, Stanley Dwight, was a officer in the Royal Air Force and was frequently away. When the elder Dwight was home, he was demanding, disapproving, and difficult to please, exuding a frightening countenance. Reggie’s mother, the former Sheila Harris, was strict, but in contrast to her husband was Elton’s true mentor, confidant, and confidence booster. Years later, she said that her son grew up “a bundle of nerves.” Reggie’s childhood was marred by terrible arguments between his parents. But something happened in 1950 that would set his life on an immutable course: At age three, he started playing the piano by ear.
Early career (1962–1969)
At age fifteen, with the help of caring father figure Farebrother, Reginald Dwight became a weekend pianist at the nearby Northwood Hills pub, playing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The crowd was often rough – sometimes an unruly patron would dump a pint of beer into Reggie’s piano – and the youngster had to work hard to please them. He played everything from Jim Reeves country songs (”He’ll Have to Go”) to Irish folk numbers (”When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”), decades-old ditties (”Beer Barrel Polka”), hits of the day (”Kign of the Road”), and songs that he had written himself. He recieved a modest, steady income and substantial tips. “During that whole period, I don’t think I ever missed a gig,” he said later. A stint with a short-lived group called the Corvettes rounded out his time.
2000s
In the 2000s, John began frequently collaborating with other artists. In 2000, John and Tim Rice teamed again to create songs for DreamWorks’ animated film The Road To El Dorado. In the musical theatre world, addition to a 1998 adaptation of The Lion King for Broadway, John also composed music for a Disney production of Aida in 1999 with lyricist Tim Rice, for which they received the Tony Award for Best Original Score and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.
In 2001, he duetted with Eminem on the rapper’s “Stan” at the Grammy Awards. This went a long way towards absolving Eminem of charges of homophobia and thus paving the way for Eminem’s greater mainstream acceptance. That same year, his 1970s track “Tiny Dancer” was prominently featured in the film Almost Famous, and then his “The Heart of Every Girl” was the end title song from 2003’s Mona Lisa Smile.

Document of Civil Partnership

Document of Civil Partnership
John has had a complicated personal history in both his sexual orientation, as well as personal battles with drugs and spending.
Sexual orientation and extended relationships
While married to Katie, Elton John disclosed his bisexuality in 1976 in a Rolling Stone magazine interview. He married German recording engineer Renate Blauel on Valentine’s Day, 1984, but they divorced four years later. John later renounced the bisexual claim and announced he was gay.
He met his partner David Furnish, a former advertising executive and now film maker, in 1993. On 21 December 2005, they entered into a civil partnership. A low-key ceremony with only their parents in attendance was held at the Guildhall, Windsor, followed by a lavish party at their Berkshire mansion. The Sun newspaper marked the event with the headline “Elton Takes David Up the Aisle”.
Sports and other interests
* In 1976, Elton John became involved in Watford Football Club and fulfilled a childhood dream by becoming its chairman and director. He invested large sums of money and the club rose into the First Division after a number of key acquisitions. He sold the club to Jack Petchey in 1987, but remained their life-long president. In 1997 he re-purchased the club from Petchey and once again became chairman. He stepped down in 2002 when the club needed a full-time chairman although he continued as president of the club. Although no longer the majority shareholder, he stills holds a significant financial interest. In June 2005 he held a concert at Watford’s Vicarage Road ground, donating the funds to the club.
Awards
* In 1991, John’s “Basque” won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition.
* Elton and Bernie Taupin were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1992.
* Elton John was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
* Elton John was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1995.
* In September 1997, Taupin altered the lyrics of “Candle in the Wind” for a special version mourning the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, and John performed it at her funeral in Westminster Abbey. A recorded version, “Candle in the Wind 1997″, then became the fastest selling single of all time, eventually going on to sell over 30 million copies worldwide, with the proceeds of approximately £55 million going to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund. John would later win the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the single.[wikipedia]

Celebrity Real Name : Elizabeth Edith Enke
Date of Birth : April 16, 1927
Birth Location : Kingston Pennsylvania
Biography of Edie Adams:
Edie Adams (born Elizabeth Edith Enke) is an American singer and light comedienne who was born on April 16, 1927, in Kingston, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of both the Juilliard School of Music and the Columbia School of Drama. She was “Miss U.S. Television” in 1950. In those early television days, she was known as Edith Adams.
She began her career in television working with comedian Ernie Kovacs. They married on September 12, 1954, and remained together until his sudden death in a car accident on January 13, 1962. They had a daughter who was also killed in a car accident (in 1982). Kovacs was a noted cigar smoker, and Edie did TV commercials for Muriel Cigars. She remained the pitch-lady for Muriel well after Kovacs’ death, intoning in a Mae West style and sexy outfit, “Why don’t you pick one up and smoke it sometime?” Another commercial showed the alluring Adams singing, “Hey, big spender, spend a little dime with me.” A Muriel cigar cost a dime.

Edie Adams was married to Marty Mills from 1964 until their divorce. He was the father of her son, Josh Mills, her surviving child. Her most recent marriage was to noted trumpet player, Pete Candoli, from 1972 until their divorce in 1989. They toured and performed together, with Candoli serving as her music director.
